Making a Goblet / the hollowing technique
In this video I try to demonstrate the usage of 1/2″ spindle gouge to quickly and cleanly hollow a goblet.
I was running the lathe at about 800-1000 rpm. Always starting slowly, to prevent a catch. You don’t want to have a piece of wood fly off the lathe at 1000 rpm — believe me, it looks nasty and it’s very dangerous.
With that said, be careful, wear all safety gadgets!
